Job Description:

 

This is a senior analyst position to support the functional systems design requirements of the PeopleSoft HRMS/Payroll application and peripheral processes.  General responsibilities will include systems analysis, documentation and production support.  The person filling this role will work as a member of a team of functional and technical Systems Analysts, functional operating managers from each Partners affiliated hospital and contracted consulting team. Responsibilities include documenting current business processes and systems requirements, and the design of future business processes and systems requirements; assist in building foundation tables for one or more modules of the PeopleSoft HRMS application; assist with prototype testing, unit testing and systems testing; create and maintain all related documentation.

 

 

 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Systems Analysis: Responsible for facilitating the development of end-user requirements; documenting such requirements; and working with technical staff to implement these requirements.  Participate in testing and validating system fixes and enhancements and assisting with user acceptance testing.  System analysis work tends to be project-based, centered on one or more of the following areas:

  • Implementing a new PeopleSoft module(s) in a new or existing Partners entity

  • Enhancing an existing component of PeopleSoft (Panel changes, new queries, reports, etc.)

  • Upgrading PeopleSoft or its technical components (Oracle, Tools, etc.)

  • Implementing a third-party product to work with PeopleSoft

  • Applying and then testing PeopleSoft fixes

Special Projects: The team lead or manager will occasionally assign special projects.  Projects could range from supporting the roll-out of devices to new PeopleSoft end-users, assisting with training classes, procedural assignments or documentation assignments.

 

 

Requirements:

 

The qualifications to support the above duties and responsibilities of this position are as follows:

 

1.            Must have a bachelor’s degree preferably in the area of management or management information systems.

2.            Must possess good communication skills both orally and written to provide the appropriate level of production support, communicating issues and resolutions to all levels of staff and management

3.            Must possess 6+ years of human resources business procedures or an HR specialty area (ie benefits, recruitment, compensation) or payroll.

4.            Must be willing to contribute as a team player, sharing information willing and accurately.

5.            Must be able to work independently with limited to no supervision.

6.            Must be able to take initiative in presenting and developing the resolution of complex issues.

7.            Must be able to see a project through from beginning to end; deliver complete and accurate documentation to support the project; communicate project milestones and scope changes as they arise.

 

The Skills/Abilities/Competencies Required to support the above duties and responsibilities of this position are as follows:

 

1.            Must have training and 6+ years experience in an information systems environment or served in a liaison roll to an information systems department

2.            Project management experience of small to medium sized projects would be beneficial

3.            Must have training or experience with systems requirements analysis and design

4.            Must have end-user knowledge of and experience with the Windows 95 client operating system

5.            Must be knowledgeable of MS Office tools

6.            Must have experience with Human Resource or Payroll Systems

7.            Experience with relational databases is beneficial

8.            Experience with Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) is beneficial
